Planning a wedding from across the world is no small feat—especially when
you're coordinating across five different time zones.

Based in Perth, Australia, Kirsten & Mitchell Smith had their hearts set on a stunning destination wedding in Samoa, exchanging vows at the breathtaking Taumeasina Island ResortHowever, as their wedding plans unfolded, they realised how challenging it was to navigate the logistics from afar. That’s when they reached out to  Wedding She Wrote, and together, we brought their dream wedding to life.

Their big day was nothing short of magical.

Samoa blessed us with a picture-perfect sunny day—crystal-clear skies, golden sands, and the kind of tropical warmth that makes island weddings unforgettable. If we had just the right amount of breeze, it would have been even better—though, not too much, becausewe’ve heard the stories of weddings where the wind had other plans!

This was a wedding of pure glamour and elegance.

Absolute beachfront views, feature floral arrangements, and a celebration surrounded and enjoyed by loved ones on a secluded island paradise, Samoa, the heart of theSouth Pacific.

Here’s what they had to share about their experience:

Internet

Was hiring a Wedding Planner a service you thought needed before working withWedding She Wrote?
Yes

How did you do with your Wedding budget?
Over, but about what we expected.

What do you think now about "hiring a Wedding Planner" now that your Wedding Day is complete?
For Samoa, essential.

What advice would you give anearly-wed couple about planning a Wedding?
Figure outwhat'sreally important to you and invest in the right vendors.

Would you referWedding She Wrote to your family and friends?
Yes

What would you tell them?
I would recommendWedding She Wrote, especially ifyou’re planning a wedding from afar.Teuila was really helpful in refining our ideas and finding vendors. She was a professional whotruly cared about making our day special.

What feelings did you experience during the planning of your Wedding?
During the planning, we felt a mix of anxiety and confusion, especially since some details took a while tofinalise. However, we also felt pleased and supported, knowing we had a wedding planner who was dedicated to helping us.

If you found yourself being 'anxious' or 'stressed' - what were the major sources of anxiety or stress during your Wedding Planning?
The major sources of stress were the uncertainty and delays infinalising some details with the venue and some vendors- we are a detailed oriented couple so the more information and visuals we could get, the better. This justwasn’t a reality for some of the vendors involved in our wedding, so it was difficult for us to navigate that for such a big day. Doing everything via email made it hard to track information sometimes and we struggled a little to keep track of where we were at.In hindsight something with similar features to Trello might be really helpful in keeping track of all the moving parts that make up the wedding and easily see where we are in the process of everything. Our run sheet was really helpful on the day to have a guideline on how things would go and in what order.

What did you gain by having a Wedding Planner?
Having a wedding planner allowed us to delegate tasks and focus on enjoying our day. Teuila and her team handled issues that arose on the day, such as missing printed signs, power problems and other concerns which meant we could focus on our day and our Her support and problem-solving made a significant difference. Our venue and reception looked magical; we loved it.

Your Testimonial...
Booking a wedding in Samoa had its challenges, and Teuila from Wedding She Wrote was an invaluable resource. She helped us refine our ideas, source vendors, and took care of unexpected issues on the day, ensuring we could enjoy our wedding. Teuila’s dedication and problem-solving skills were put to the test as she dealt with venue staffing mishaps, power outages, and printed signs going missing in transit—most of which wedidn’t learn about until the next day. We appreciated her professional approach and post-wedding reflections for improvements. For couples who need planningassistance, especially for destination weddings, I recommend Wedding She Wrote.
